Your battle format

Two teams, three rounds, one assignment per round. Teams alternate who shoots first each round. Best of 3 wins.

How a round works

First team shoots and picks one photo to represent them. The second team then gets the same amount of time to shoot a photo that answers it, same subject reframed, opposite mood, funnier, sharper, their call. Both photos go up side by side and the group votes by applause.

The reveal

Losing team shoots first next round. After all 3 rounds, the team with more round wins gets first pick of the prizes and their best shot featured on the Instagram recap.

Tasks

Group activities, ice-breakers, and things for participants to try

Color Pop ~10 min/turn

Find the boldest single color in the frame; no stranger required, any subject works.

Reflection Duel ~10 min/turn

Double the city: a reflection in a window, puddle, or glass. A person in the reflection is a bonus, not a requirement.

The Gesture ~10 min/turn

A fleeting human moment: a hand mid-motion, two strangers interacting, or someone caught mid-stride from behind. Face optional, the moment is what matters. Ask first if it reads as a posed moment.

Rules

Code of conduct, venue rules, and community guidelines

Stay with the group, no one shoots alone outside their turn.

Time is a target, not a deadline, the minutes in Tasks are a guide.

If a team's mid-moment (waiting on the right stranger, right light), the host can let it run 2-3 minutes over. No forfeits for running long.
