Stay with the Group
Participants must remain with the group throughout the event to ensure safety and collaboration. Wandering off alone is not allowed.
Time Management
Be punctual! Arrive on time to participate in all planned activities and discussions. Latecomers may miss important information or photo opportunities.
Respect for Subjects
Always be mindful and respectful of the people and places you photograph. Obtain consent when capturing individuals in your shots, and be courteous to the community.
Tasks
Group activities, ice-breakers, and things for participants to try
Candid Moments Capture
Document spontaneous and natural moments without posing or staging. Capture authentic expressions and interactions.
Shadow Play
Explore the use of shadows in photography. Create images that emphasize the interplay of light and shadow to add depth and interest.
The Decisive Moment
Wait and capture a split-second moment that tells a story — an expression, a gesture, a collision of elements.
Portrait with Permission
Ask one person for a portrait and take 3–5 frames.
Alone in the Crowd
Photograph someone who feels isolated or lost in their own world within a busy scene.
Performer in Action
Photograph a musician, dancer, or street artist while they perform.
Detail Shot
Photograph a single human detail that tells part of the festival story — hands, an instrument, food being prepared.
Layered Composition
Build a frame with foreground, middle ground, and background subjects.
Urban Story
One single frame that tells a story. No explanation needed — the image speaks for itself.
Backlit Portrait
Photograph a subject with the low evening sun behind them, creating a rim of light.
Environmental Portrait
Photograph someone in the context where they belong — a vendor, a busker, a performer at their setup.
Anticipated Moment
Identify a situation about to happen — a toast, a greeting, a jump — and capture the peak frame.
Two-Person Interaction
Photograph two people engaged with each other — a conversation, a handshake, a shared laugh, a parent guiding a child.
